HireRight HIPDB Check

The HireRight Health Care Integrity and Protection Data Bank (HIPDB) Check helps combat fraud and abuse in health insurance and health care delivery. It searches the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) databases for information about final adverse actions taken against health care practitioners, providers and suppliers. Identifying those individuals or entities that have negative actions, revocations, suspensions, loss of license or other sanctions will help protect your organization from health care fraud and abuse.

By performing the HireRight HIPDB Check, you will reveal those individuals or entities that have received health care sanctions. This helps to ensure your organization’s or entity’s compliance with federal regulations, as well as mitigate the risk of being barred from federally funded programs by employing or contracting those that are excluded. To further protect your organization from risk, HireRight also recommends performing the National Practitioners Data Bank (NPDB) Check in conjunction with the HIPDB Check.

Common HIPDB Check Uses:

• Determine if a practitioner, provider, or supplier has a history of injunctions, civil judgments, or criminal convictions
• Reveal practitioners, providers or suppliers that are excluded from federal or state health care programs
• Uncover licensing and certification actions including revocations, suspensions, censures, reprimands, probations, loss of license or loss of the right to apply for or renew a license
