Mike Petrullo assumed the role of President and CEO of HireRight in September 2009. He joined the Altegrity group of companies in March 2009, initially serving as a senior vice president on the Altegrity corporate leadership team, focusing on organic and inorganic growth initiatives. He is a seasoned finance and operations executive with significant M&A and restructuring experience and an outstanding track record of leadership and accomplishment driving organizational change and development.

Mark Mayo is CFO of HireRight and oversees the company’s global financial, accounting and procurement organizations. Mark originally joined the company in September of 2007 as Chief Financial Officer of the USIS Commercial Services Division and became HireRight’s CFO following the merger of USIS and HireRight in August 2008.

Brian Pierson joined HireRight in December 2011 as chief operations officer. Mr. Pierson has more than 20 years of global operations, information technology, manufacturing, strategy, and management experience, and leads worldwide service delivery functions for HireRight. Before joining HireRight, Mr. Pierson served as senior vice president of global operations and acting head of research & development at NASDAQ-listed technology firm FEI Company, where he was responsible for the global IT, manufacturing and engineering organizations. While at FEI, he served as chair of the product development board and led gross margin improvement programs.

Stefano Malnati joined HireRight in February 2004. As the Senior Vice President of Engineering, Mr. Malnati is responsible for driving the development of HireRight’s technology solutions.

Dan Shoemaker joined HireRight as Vice President, International Business in September 2010. Mr. Shoemaker leads HireRight’s international business, including market strategy and development, operations, and delivery of HireRight solutions outside of North America.





Mike Petrullo – President and Chief Executive Officer
Mike Petrullo assumed the role of President and CEO of HireRight in September 2009. He joined the Altegrity group of companies in March 2009, initially serving as a senior vice president on the Altegrity corporate leadership team, focusing on organic and inorganic growth initiatives. He is a seasoned finance and operations executive with significant M&A and restructuring experience and an outstanding track record of leadership and accomplishment driving organizational change and development.

Prior to Altegrity, Mr. Petrullo served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC). There he helped design a new business model and led restructuring efforts in 2005 that resulted in $650 million of annual cost savings for the company. He developed the strategy for MMC’s Operational Excellence Program, which resulted in $350 million of annual cost savings from leveraging best practices companywide in the infrastructure and administrative functions. He served on MMC’s executive committee and was the chairman of its operating committee.

Prior to that position, he served as chief financial officer for Marsh-Kroll Risk Consulting. During this period, Mr. Petrullo was responsible for several successful acquisition and merger transition efforts, including the successful integration of Kroll, Inc. with MMC and the combination of Marsh’s Risk Consulting business into Kroll’s operations.

Mr. Petrullo was Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Kroll from May 2002 to July 2004, where he restructured the management of the operating units from a regional-based management system to a product line system. He was the chairman of the operations committee and a member of both the executive and expansion committees. Prior to that, he held positions of increasing responsibility with the company, beginning with his arrival at Kroll Associates in 1995 as Assistant Controller. From 1990 to 1995, he served as a member of the audit and assurance practice and forensic accounting practice of KPMG, Peat Marwick, LLP.

Mr. Petrullo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at Pace University in New York.

Mark Mayo - Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mark Mayo is CFO of HireRight and oversees the company’s global financial, accounting and procurement organizations. Mark originally joined the company in September of 2007 as Chief Financial Officer of the USIS Commercial Services Division and became HireRight’s CFO following the merger of USIS and HireRight in August 2008.

Prior to joining HireRight, Mr. Mayo spent 13 years in various financial management roles at General Electric (GE), including CFO of GE Trailer Fleet Services, CFO of GE Express Financial Solutions and CFO of GE Railcar Services Europe, during which time he adhered to public company accounting standards and played an instrumental role in the attainment of SOX compliance. Mr. Mayo also held a number of other key leadership positions while at GE including Pricing Manager, Finance Integration Black Belt and Senior Audit Manager.

Mr. Mayo holds a Bachelors of Commerce in Finance from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Brian Pierson, Chief Operations Officer
Brian Pierson joined HireRight in December 2011 as chief operations officer. Mr. Pierson has more than 20 years of global operations, information technology, manufacturing, strategy, and management experience, and leads worldwide service delivery functions for HireRight. Before joining HireRight, Mr. Pierson served as senior vice president of global operations and acting head of research & development at NASDAQ-listed technology firm FEI Company, where he was responsible for the global IT, manufacturing and engineering organizations. While at FEI, he served as chair of the product development board and led gross margin improvement programs. Prior to FEI Company, Mr. Pierson was vice president of sales operations at Xilinx where he was responsible for process improvements resulting in significant increases in lead development and conversion rates. Previously, Mr. Pierson held leadership positions at Applied Materials, including running operations for a $2B service division. He also served for 11 years in the United States Army as an officer in a variety of assignments including the Desert Storm operation and educational instruction at West Point.

Pierson holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Stefano Malnati - Senior Vice President of Engineering
Stefano Malnati joined HireRight in February 2004. As the Senior Vice President of Engineering, Mr. Malnati is responsible for driving the development of HireRight’s technology solutions.

From November 2002 to January 2004, Mr. Malnati was Vice President of Product Management and Business Development at ImpactXoft, Inc., a software development firm focused on providing applications to manage the collaborative design process for 3-D product development, including consumer goods and electronics. From October 1999 to November 2002, Mr. Malnati served as Senior Vice President of Engineering for PRAJA, Inc., a developer of business activity monitoring software which was acquired by TIBCO Software Inc. during his tenure. From 1997 to October 1999, Mr. Malnati served as Vice President of Engineering for Centric Software Inc., a provider of enterprise software solutions relating to managing product or capital program initiatives.

Mr. Malnati holds a degree in Electronics from the Instituto Tecnico of Gallarate, Italy, and has studied Computer Science at the Universita'degli Studi in Milan, Italy.

Robert Pickell - Senior Vice President of Customer Solutions
Robert Pickell joined HireRight in 2007 and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Customer Solutions. With nearly 20 years of product, strategy, marketing, consulting, and general management experience, he oversees product management, marketing and customer success strategies for HireRight’s complete product and service portfolio.

From September 2001 to November 2006, Mr. Pickell was Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at Quantum Corp., a global supplier of data storage systems. From 2000 to 2001, Mr. Pickell served as Executive Vice President, General Manager of Escrow.com, a financial services company providing online transaction settlement solutions. From 1999 to 2000, he served as Vice President of Partner Marketing for Stamps.com, a provider of online mailing and shipping products. From 1994 to 1999, he served as Group Director of Marketing and Channel Development for AirTouch Cellular. Mr. Pickell's prior experience also includes working as a Project Consultant for the Center for Applied Research, a management consulting firm specializing in corporate strategy and organizational development, and as an Associate Consultant for Hewitt Associates, a human resources outsourcing and consulting organization.

Mr. Pickell graduated with a B.A. in Economics with department honors from Pomona College, and with an M.B.A. with distinction from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Catherine Aldrich - Vice President of Operations
Catherine Aldrich joined HireRight in November 2009 as Vice President of Operations. Ms. Aldrich is responsible for leading HireRight’s service delivery functions for verifications, public records and customer service.

Ms. Aldrich came to HireRight from Accurate Background, where for the past nine years she was Executive Vice President as well as Corporate Compliance Officer relating to all federal and state/local credit reporting laws. Her duties included overseeing operations for background screening product lines, responsibility for client servicing activities, managing the corporate marketing department, driving a successful companywide ISO 9001:2000 certification and helping to guide company strategy and direction. Prior to joining Accurate Background, she held the position of Vice President of Product Management at ChoicePoint from 1996–2000.

Ms. Aldrich has served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) and is a member of several professional organizations including the NAPBS Background Screening Credentialing Council (BSCC) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Marc Maloy - Vice President of Sales
Marc Maloy joined HireRight as a National Sales Executive in 2001, became Director of Enterprise Sales in 2006, and became the Vice President of Sales in April 2009. In his role as Vice President of Sales, Mr. Maloy focuses on sales strategy and execution leading to new customer acquisition across the large, mid-market, and small business sales teams. Before joining HireRight, Mr. Maloy held operations and customer service management positions for Certico Verification Services, a pre-employment background screening company, where he oversaw a large production staff.

Mr. Maloy holds a Bachelor of Arts in both Operations Management and Human Resources Management from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business.

Janet Randolph – Vice President of Human Resources
Janet Randolph joined HireRight as Vice President of Human Resources in May 2010. She leads HireRight’s global human resources function, designed to attract, develop, engage, and retain its highly talented workforce. Ms. Randolph brings more than 25 years of combined human resources and business strategy leadership experience to the HireRight executive team.

Before joining HireRight, Ms. Randolph was Director of Human Resources for the Rational Software brand within International Business Machines Corporation’s ("IBM") Software Group following its October 2006 acquisition of FileNet where she was Vice President of Human Resources. Prior to FileNet, Ms. Randolph served for approximately six years as Vice President of Human Resources for Epicor Software Corporation.

Ms. Randolph has held a number of other HR leadership roles where her ability to align human resources strategies with organizational objectives helped to deliver business growth and performance, including key positions at Johnson & Johnson’s Cordis Webster unit, Sorin Biomedical, Inc., and IBRD-Rostrum Global. She has also held business development executive positions at Right Management Consultants and CoCensys, Inc.

Ms. Randolph earned her M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix and her B.A. in Sociology from University of California, Los Angeles. She currently serves on the Executive Development Advisory Board for The Paul Merage School of Business at UCI and the UCI Extension Human Resources and Organizational Development Advisory Committee.

Dan Shoemaker, Vice President of International Business

Dan Shoemaker joined HireRight as Vice President, International Business in September 2010. Mr. Shoemaker leads HireRight’s international business, including market strategy and development, operations, and delivery of HireRight solutions outside of North America.

Prior to HireRight, Mr. Shoemaker was with Altegrity company US Investigations Services (USIS), where he served as director of the Central Business Unit, with responsibility for field operations of more than 550 investigators, covering 14 states. Prior to this role, he served USIS in corporate development and business development roles, originally joining the company in 2002. Prior experience includes serving as Assistant Secretary of Transportation for the Commonwealth of Virginia and managing government affairs for the National Air Transportation Association, based in Alexandria, Virginia.

Active within the background screening industry, Mr. Shoemaker served as the 2009-2010 Chairman, and currently is a board member of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS). As Chairman of NAPBS, one of his key accomplishments was the expansion of the association internationally, overseeing the development of chapters in Europe and Asia-Pacific regions to meet the new demands of a globalizing industry.

Mr. Shoemaker holds an MBA from the McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University, and a BA in Geography from Virginia Tech.
