Credentialing Overview
PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION PROVIDED TO YOU IN THIS EMAIL – IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE CREDENTIALING PROCESS.
The Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires HireRight to verify the legitimacy of businesses requesting consumer background reports. This ensures reports are used appropriately and helps protect consumer information.The credentialing process involves several steps to verify your business’s legitimacy and ability to handle sensitive information securely. HireRight will review various documents and perform site inspections as needed.
Documentation and Information Needed:
Your business will need to provide one of the following:
Active listing with the Secretary of State
Business license
Articles of Incorporation with a filing stamp
State or federal tax records
FDIC certification
501(c) IRS document for non-profits
2. Your phone number must be verifiable through one of the following:
YellowPages or the company’s website
A phone bill listing the company name and address
Work orders or VOIP account screenshots
Personal cell phone bill of a business owner or officer
3. Your email domain must match the company name.
4. You will be expected to complete a site Inspection either:
Self-service via the Truepic app, or
In-person inspection by a third-party vendor
5. The site inspection will verify your location.
Virtual offices and coworking spaces are not permitted.
Businesses sharing office space must be affiliated.
Home businesses must operate in a dedicated, locked space.
If your business was formed within the last 12 months, you must provide two of the following:
Bank statement from the past 90 days (redacted as needed)
Phone or utility statement from the past 90 days (redacted as needed)
Proof of insurance with an expiration date in the future or within the last 30 days
