Frequently Asked Questions
HireRight offers a 40% discount over retail for AAA Clubs and their service providers/contractor network.
There may be surcharges associated with your background check package. These charges are not imposed by HireRight. When they apply you will know immediately. These charges can occur when ordering a criminal background check or motor vehicle report as an example. The charges are from the individual courts in specific counties or department of motor vehicles and are passed through as a surcharge with no additional service charge by HireRight.
If you are a home-based business and in some cases when HireRight needs to validate that your business is a “real” business an onsite inspection may be required. This means that a third party is hired by HireRight to come to your location to make sure you comply with certain federal requirements such as making sure all sensitive and personal information is kept in a locked office, etc. When and if this requirement applies HireRight has discounted the onsite visit to $100 for AAA. This is a one-time fee only. The requirement is not a HireRight requirement. This is also a security measure that will keep AAA and its membership safe. The process can take up to 10 business days. The inspection takes approx. 15 minutes.
Neither the current standard nor the changes to the revised standard require access to the background checks. Clubs will not have access to any contractor’s employee detailed information. HireRight offers a Web-based system that can display pass or fail results upon request. Pass or fail results are determined by items outlined in the standard and any additional criteria added by the individual clubs.
HireRight offers a solution that allows AAA to see that each driver/contractor has “met company standards,” “doesn’t meet company standards” or is pending a decision by AAA. This pass or fail criteria is called adjudication standards or guidelines. AAA Clubs already have an adjudication guideline or standard in place but HireRight can provide you with a standard adjudication template as a guide to assist you in completing your own guidelines. Each club can add additional criteria to the standard in order to reduce the amount of pendings that may occur. Once a Club has this adjudication policy or standard in place it is provided to HireRight. HireRight will adjudicate results based on your guidelines. AAA will not see the background report details but will see “meets company standards,” “doesn’t meet company standards,” or “pending.”
